CHANGES AT THE LIBRARY!

Sandi Martinez who has worked for several years as the librarian at Pueblo de Abiquiu Library, has resigned from her job as of September 9th. We will miss her attention to detail, her wit and perceptive observations, her easy relations with our diverse library patrons, her readings at the annual Read-a-thons, her sense of fun and her professionalism. The Library Board and staff send her our best wishes and appreciation.

Thanks also to Felicia Lopez for arranging the fine new display on Land Grants from the collection of materials that Isabel Trujillo has amassed over the years.

ESL classes sponsored by the Adult Education Program of Northern New Mexico College will begin on Saturday, August 28th from 2-5pm and continue every Saturday through December 18th. Contact Sabra Moore for free reigistration via the Library (505-685-4884).

We appreciated the community support for the book sale during the  Santa Rosa Festival. The historical van attracted about 40 visitors during the day, including local people who told stories abut their ancestors being taken captive in the Abiquiu area in years past. This was prompted by the handcuffs on display in the van.

Watch for upcoming fundraising events this fall!
