Thank you to the twenty Read-a-thon readers and numerous Draw-a-thon artists who spend their Sunday afternoon reading and listening to the fabulous adventures of Cabeza de Vaca about how he and two other survivors of the ill-fated sixteenth century explored along the coast of what is now Texas and then wandered into our region. We especially appreciate the student readers from Northern Youth Project and the supporters who sponsored readers. When you visit the library, ask to see the three Read-a-thon/Draw-a-thon books from the three earlier Read-a-thons; the current book will be available shortly. The Read-a-thon is a reading race and cultural event that supports our library.
